Dear Ubisoft--
I need to talk to you about some things. Let's get something straight first: I really do like most of your games, and I absolutely LOVE both Assassin's Creed games, much moreso the second than the first. In my honest opinion, a lot of your most recent titles have been absolute home runs and aside from some of the shameless in game advertising you use, I generally equate your games with quality. But lets talk about controls, specifically in Assassin's Creed I and II. I think you need to remember some key points for the third installment of this series, which again, I adore:
1. Just because I run by something does not mean I want to try climbing up that object 8 times. When a guard is chasing me and I'm trying to run through the streets and get away from them, the most frustrating thing in the world is when Ezio tries to climb up a random object just because he got remotely close to it. Ezio actually gets OCD about climbing that object. Like no matter how hard you try to run away from it, he still wants to climb it.
2. SPOILER ALERT. Let's talk about the 6th Assassin's Tomb. If you are going to make the controls irritating (as explained in point 1) please do not give me jumping puzzles to solve that rely solely on me controlling the direction in which I jump. That 6th tomb was one of the most infuriating things I have been through in a game all year long. It's like YOU are punishing ME for bad choices in game mechanics.
3. If Ezio is such an acrobat, why does he have such trouble jumping diagonally? Nuff said.
4. Please keep the English version all in English. I want to know what they're saying!! I'm Italian myself, and I still have no idea what they're talking about half the time!
5. Other than the first three points, keep up the good work. Assassin's Creed II is brilliant. Sometimes annoying, but mostly brilliant. I can't put it down. Just please please please come up with some better mechanics. And please keep making awesome looking cities and towns and people.
