The price of home console games have gone up especially on current gen consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox 360. Last generation the price of video games were much lower than it is currently. However, according to some, video games may get cheaper in 2010.
According to Gameinformer, EA Canada senior producer Jason DeLong made some rather interesting comments regarding the current price of video games. With the increase in the price of video games from $50 to $60 USD, many gamers were initially peeved at the price hike.
However, according to DeLong, prices of video games may drop in 2010 with more publishers relying on DLC to supplement development costs. This may be a brilliant idea as it certainly would help spur sales with the state of the economy. Its surprising this suggestion is coming from a publisher considering Bobby Kotick’s comments about raising the prices of video games.
i doubt this will happen seeing as how money hungry devs are this time around. what are your thoughts?
