Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Boomshakalaka: NBA Jam returns

As a Wii title:

Instead, sources confirmed to ESPN that the new title is actually one of the all-time classics coming back to consoles as EA Sports has acquired the rights from the NBA to deliver an updated version of "NBA Jam" that will ship to retail exclusively for the Wii.

For those too young to remember, NBA Jam is a two-on-two basketball game that hit arcades back in 1993 and instantly took the video game industry by storm. The game (originally published by Midway) shattered all coin-op records, and still holds the mark for most money earned at a single location in one week.

He's on fire!

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Michael is a douche bag.

I don't know what gives him the right to remove himself from NBA games ever since 2003. Whats next Kobe Bryant removing himself from NBA games. Grew up Jordan.

I never knew Shaq had two of these machines. I wonder if he still takes them to games in Cleveland.

It seems I won't be making this purchase as I don't have a Wii.

Awesome game back in 93.

Playing NBA Jam multiplayer was almost as fun as playing Golden Eye split-screen.

Good times.

Haha, this was the only sports game I ever played on the Genesis. Loved it to death, especially when flying across the court while on fire... only to slam it down to the acclaim of the announcers.

As for this Wii-make (heh... Wii pun), I won't be holding my breath. Who knows, there's always the chance we can be pleasantly surprised.

Michael has no control over it, I think. He signed a contract for some other game and they have the rights to his likeness for games.

I thought it was about Space Jam...

An adaption for the movie...

No, he removed himself because he's a greedy MF.
