PS3 sold:

2007 -- 7.5 Million

2008 -- 10.2 Million (increase of 2.7 Million)

2009 -- 12.3 Million (increase of 2.1 Million) -- not counting the last week of this year, counting the last week it could be 12.9 million

So basically it increases by 2.5 Millione evry year!!

Will this deep analysis prove a trend is present?

Will PS3 continue to smash our expectations?

Will PS Motion, FFXIII, GOW3 & GT5 move systems on a MASSIVE level?

Will PS3 continue this SMASHING TREND and sell 14 Million in 2010, or will it fall prey to declining interest after the "so called" 3rd peak year?

It will peak this year.

Most times 3rd year is the peak year, but this gen is far from normal. I bet the 360 will have it's peak year this year (5th year), so who knows.

It will peak when its $199 like every other consoles ever made has (or even below that)

It won't reach $199 till the very end of this gen.  Late 2011 at the absolute earliest.

definetely by 2011 at the very latest imho.

Then it will peak then when its at mass market price, its still expensive in UK & europe you know

The very end of this gen is a funny thing to say now due to NATAL & PS Motion, SONY/MS may have increased the time of this gen by a further 3 - 4 years

There is also the possibility of another PS3 Slim

no, but  hopefully Sony can give us games like they did in : 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, but it's a long shot.
