Forums - Gaming Discussion - Have you ever...

Have you ever gone back to replay or continue playing a game you haven't played in awhile and realize that your opinion is much different than it was when you first played it? That's the way it is with me right now and Fallout 3. I enjoyed the game for the most part and put it away when I finished the last DLC pack months ago, but I got it out a few days ago to do some sidequests while waiting for Assassin's Creed II to come in and find myself enjoying the game, the world, and the characters much more now than I did while I was playing (I could go on and on about how awesome it is if you haven't played it before).

Anyway, has anybody else had significant differences of opinion when going back to or replaying a game?

Of course not.

Yeah it happened with me while playing that exact same game except the other way around. I got to like level 10 and was loving the game but then put it down and didn't pick it up for a month. Then when I went back I hated it. It just felt bland and the world didn't feel as immersive. I still beat it all the way through and most of the dlc though.

Feel free to add me as your friend-PSN ID: Bobo012893

Well recently I was playing Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain thnx to the PSN. I used to think the cutscenes in that game were "OMG THIS LOOKS REAL" back in the PS1 days, but now....they are slightly an eyesore, nonetheless impressive for PS1 standards. The gameplay however still remains fresh to me and I enjoy it. I also experienced the same thing with FFVII. Now as far as gameplay, I got KZ2 when it came out and beat it, then I went on to the multiplayer for a few months and put it down. Fairly recently I started playing the multiplayer again and it felt OMG SO MUCH FUN. Now I decided to play KZ2 on veteran and it's an even more refreshing experience.

I haven't played Fallout 3 yet, I have played 1,2, and tactics, so I will take your advice and play this one eventually.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

I replayed Super Smash Bros. Brawl after I had found it, since I had lost it for months. Thought it was garbage, never played it again.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

Oblivion was a much better game with MMM and OOO, mods. So yep.

The first Metroid Prime game and Oblivion, I played through around a hour of each the 1st time through and hated them, I decided to play through them over a year after giving up on them and both are now among my favorite games ever!

To me, travelling through the sewers and in the city getting shot by random raiders was more annoying than fun and when that started happening, it became more fun to me than it did in the beginning. As far as the DLC goes, I enjoyed it all, except for Mothership Zeta, which I thought was a steaming pile of garbage.

Dragon Quest VIII

I found it highly boring the first time I've played it and I putted it aside after like 5 hours of play time. I then tried it again maybe a year after and I found out that the game gets so much better with time and experience. It's seriously a great game.

Yes, with Call of Dutty world at war for the Wii.

first play through was on single player.
second play through was online a few months later, and boy, the disc rarely came out of my Wii after that!
