Yeah it happened with me while playing that exact same game except the other way around. I got to like level 10 and was loving the game but then put it down and didn't pick it up for a month. Then when I went back I hated it. It just felt bland and the world didn't feel as immersive. I still beat it all the way through and most of the dlc though.
