Why do people care about what critics reception will be to a game?

If you like it, buy it...simple as that.

This is why Taylor Swift sells millions of records
and Transformers 2 makes billions at the box office. Most people don't have actual taste...

But she had the best video of the year, even if Beyonce had the best video of ALL TIME.

Ugh, everytime I think of Taylor Swift I have to facepalm myself.

Thank you Kanye for setting Black People back 50 years

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Not that I listen much to their music, but a TA in one of my clases who is in love with Kanye said that him and Taylor Swift have the same agent so the whole thing was probably staged.

Anyway.... That's my off topic post of the day.

It's always possible, but if it is. Then they basically sacrificed Kanye's career. His image is damaged so much that he has to put his album on hold and do a few years of damage control. He lost millions of dollars because several other musical acts withdrew from a joint tour with him citing that incident as the catalyst. Oh Well he's rich and he's fucking Amber Rose, besides his Mom dying his life is pretty rosey

Watching the latest leaked vids and watching different forums and people's individuals reactions to the latest gameplay movies, i can't help but say that my expectations for the game has been lowered.

Granted, i was very skeptical about the game at first and although i am now a tad bit on the optimistic side, i can't help but say that critical reception for this game will be mixed (mixed meaning low 80s, high 70s) with a 10 on graphics, and a mere 7 for gameplay, and maybe an 8 for the "innovation" part. I would like to be proven wrong, but I think the graphics will be one major thing that will save this game from mediocrity at worst, and at best, it will carve out a niche audience for this movie-game fusion genre (which will include me).  =]

First of all Heavy Rain is not a video game. It was never meant to be a video game and it never will be. The dev said himself it isn't a videogame and the title was inspired by his viewing of Pixars 'Up' with his children and wanted to make a movie title for mature adults that people in their 40's like himself can view without gameplay complications and have an effect on the lives of main protagonists. This IS an interactive mature title that people over the age of 40 should be attracted to, which is why he isn't expecting it to sell amazingly well. He said it was a game, but I knew better and he proved me right when he said it is longer a game. When he told me about his inspiration it sealed the deal.

Dude Taylor Swift's fanbase is composed tween girls. Let it go, you know chicks....they like Twilight. They make more emotional decisions than decisions based on talent. Most tween girls as history has shown like music that they can move to and if they ever listen to quality music at all it is a bonus. Take pop music for instance. The sales have been driven by female tweens since the 60's.

When did an 85 become bad?

really? its not a video game? why would they market it as not a video game anyway? if its strictly an interactive movie, it will never sell at 60 dollars. i personally hope the game will play like a video game even if its really different.

Did you see what I wrote about what the dev Cage said?  He said it is no longer a video game and I totally agree with him as well on that. Actually I never thought it was a video game. Everything is predetermined, you just have to put in the button command and save your characters life while the story unfolds or die and move on to the next player. It's that simple. This will probably be the fastest title i'll ever finish because of what it is. In that respect, is it worth 60 dollars? I dunno....thats up to you, but I am not buying it. It's not expected to sell very well anyway.

85 isn't bad at all, although I expect it to score higher.

Lies! You expect it to rate 78-83 on metacritic so you can be amazingly surprised when it gets a 92% aggregate!

Tease.
