I was just comparing Gamecube to Wii sales in Japan Gamecube 26 week sales: Passed after 7 weeks Gamecube 52 week sales: Passed after 11 weeks Gamecube 78 week sales: 89% of the way as of week 16 Gamecube 104 week sales: 78% of the was as of week 16 As it looks right now, the Wii will have sold more units in 6 Months in Japan than the Gamecube sold in 2 years ...

Isn't that a big turn around. Honestly, I thought the Wii was going to sell ok, I could have never thought of this.

Besides I agree with you 100% you can't compare the specs on each system the PSP kills the DS but you can't compare the sales either cause the DS kills the PSP. So, would you rather have a system that looks amazing or a system that makes you more money?

While people are moaning to each other I'm reasonably suprised that a lone PS2 game is in the top spot(Orochi Warriors). *Checks what kind of game it is. Ahh, another Dynasty Warriors style game. So, just like in the game you have your character beating off lots of enemies and the lone PSP title is the ally that you're constantly trying to defend until your dying breath... kinda reflects that in the charts

The PSP is a nice fancy gadget but lacks a solid construction FOR A PORTABLE DEVICE, battery power, and actual pick-up-and-play PORTABLE games (not console ports). Looks like I might be getting a DS Lite today, if I can find one. ;)

The DS has a touchscreen that is technology the psp does not have, the ds is not simply an inferior machine to the psp, the touchscreen has produced gameplay elements that have contributed to making the my favorite portable games. The microphone and dual screens have also contributed to some fun gameplay as well. But ultiately the touchscreen has really expanded portable gameplay in a way the psp simply hasn't. The psp is nothing more then a lousy console. sub-par ps2 graphics with much weaker controls. And for the most part there is a better console title for almost every psp game out there. Personally I also like the the graphics are bad on the DS, yes I said it, bad. Meaning that I don't like play 3rd person 3d shooters on a handheld period. Becuase of the DS's weak graphics, many developers have stuck to 2d visuals, which is my favorite. For example despite the well review DS Metroid that's in 3d, I hate it, and I love the New SMB. So I'm glad there is still a venue for this style of gameplay. psp battery life is terrible too.

Oh what I really wanted to post about, the Wii sales figures!!! This must be a sign that Nintendo is shiping more systems to Japan now. Which means they were always selling out in Japan every weak, being that no release is pushing the numbers. Hence this bad boy has yet to reach demand on some level. This is truly amazing.
