Forums - Sony - PS3 "Final Fantasy 13" actual development time was only two years.

Sounds like bullshit. It was announced in 2006, that would mean they put together a trailer and then sat on their asses for a year doing nothing.

Not saying it only took 2 years, but most of the work at that time would have been changing the engine wouldn't it? I mean, three engines were used.

Well, it was originally White Engine that FF13 was going to be built on. Then they switched to Crystal Tools and made it work with 360. Then they later changed it again to work with the Wii.

iirc White engine was the codename/prototype with Crystal Tools being the final engine ... there the same thing...right?

White Engine 1.0 is Crystal Tools. They changed the name and announced its intended purpose to be compatible with 360, Wii and PC at the same time.
