As i stated in my previous post PS3's are very hard to find where i live (midwest USA). Other people also commented on how its hard to find PS3s in their areas as well. Do you think the shortages in these areas caused the 360 to sell more than PS3 in NA (ending Dec 26)? Did this also prevent the PS3 from hitting 1 million two weeks in a row?

I would hope the 360 outsells the Ps3 in NA seeing as how NA is the 360's home turf.

There are still 250gb ps3 right? which cost a bit more than the $299 model so maybe.....

My local Wal Mart still has 6 PS3 (5 of them are the Uncharted 2 bundle), 1 XBOX360 Elite, a ton of Arcade models and a couple of Wiis. More than shortage I think it was a case of bad distribution.

not sure about a week ago but today my target/best buy had plenty of all 5 current gen systems.

I wasn't necessarily surprised by the fact that the 360 outsold the PS3 in NA, I was more surprised that it outsold it by such a margin. It has to be shortages because I don't think the PS3 would fall in sales from the previous week considering how close to christmas we were. This could very well be the reason why PS3 didn't hit 1 million this week but that depends on if there actually was shortages and not just less demand, which is a possibility.

Oh well, here's to the new year for PS3 & 360, should be a good sales battle this year in NA.

Yup, and quite honestly is a good deal for 50 bucks more you get the game and more space on the HD.
