Forums - Sony - Urgent help needed (ps3 related)

Does anyone know the name of the wire that usually connects a pc to the monitor? It's usually blue with tiny pins/spikes as the sockets and comes with two screws at the side of it.

Also, more importantly, does anyone know if it's possible to get a converter of the afformentioned wire into scart?

I'm asking because I got a new shiny HD monitor for my birthday/christmas that was meant to replace my tv however the monitor doesn't have a scart plug in which means I can play the ps3 but not my freeview box.

A possible solution is to connect the ps3 to both the monitor (which will now double up as my new pc monitor) as well as the old tv. Question is is that possible? If I switch on the ps3 whilst it's effectively connected to 2 tvs, will the ps3 get confused or whatever? especially if one is 1080HD and one isn't?

Any advice/help is welcomed.
