in games? of game we actually know about the ps3 and 360 are pretty much tit-for-tat.

in sales? nintendo is the obvious winner overall. ps3 will outsell the 360 (on average) until probably september-ish when the 360 has a price cut and/or natal launch at which momentum will probably shift. maybe it's just me but i expect wii/ps3/360 to all be down on 2009 vs. 2010 sales.

I know, seriously...it's why I'm against these kind of threads (about console year domination, that is).

Wii's software lineup looks seriously weak this year. I think we'll see alot of Wii users who actually play games alot go for one of the HD consoles this year and most of them will go for PS3.

360 will have a ok year , Halo reach will not sale no 12million copies, CRAZY, 360 does have some good exclusives comming, but so does Sony, Both consoles will see another price drop, I believe PS3 will continue to dominate in the sales catagory. I own both 360 and Ps3 I will be spending a lot of money on exclusives in 2010. I think the gem or wand, will be more fun then natal, A wii like controller with PS3 experience could be unreal, natal seems ok for some games, but not shooters or what im looking for as a gamer.

Seems unlikely, although I think 360 will perform well in 2010. But dominate?

1 - The Wii still dominates in terms of sales, even when down YOY

2 - Speaking of which, the 360 was down YOY and would likely have seen worse YOY performance except for some extremely low cost bundles/deals in US/UK during late November/December

3 - The PS3 was the only home console up YOY and next year it sees more big franchises hitting the platform for the 1st time vs sequels - this is important because sequels sell well but don't drive as big a sales spike as 1st iterations on a platform

4 - Natal will be launching late in year, allowing Wii to eat up more marketshare for motion control orientated gaming before it launches.

5 - It is possible that Sony may get to market first with motion controls, allowing it to have 'first dibs' at adding motion controls to an HD console (although in theory it already did with the Eye, it just forgot to include any decent games).

So, looking at current trends regarding YOY performance, the fact the PS3 and Wii are essentially 1 year 'younger' in the market, the fact most big 360 exclusives are sequels vs 1st iterations, and I find it hard to believe it will dominate (at least not without some form of price drop). I also think Natal is likely to arrive to late to make a huge difference, although that's harder to call.

Going on numbers I think it's like Wii will again sell the most in 2010, the PS3 will probably nab second place, just, with 360 in third in terms of total console sales for 2010.

Well, they have at least two big hitters in the form of Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M. Then there's the possibility that No More Heroes 2 and Red Steel 2 could be big hitters earlier in the year. So it's not looking particularly weak compared to 2009 from the outset...

Edit: Monster Hunter Tri will also hit the Wii in the west, which has potential if it's marketed properly. But mostly I expect continued sales of NSMB Wii, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus to be the backbone of the system's sales throughout 2010.

so by the list of games:
Wii wins in exclusive titles, but 360 wins overall while the only exclusive i'm interested in on ps3 is Yakuza 3 which is like 2 years old.

THIS IS MY OPINION.
overall i think that both wii and 360 have slightly better line-up of games for next year simply because majority of ps3 lineup for EU/NA are 2 year old japanese games and delayed almost every year titles like Gran Turismo 5. i doubt Last Guardian will be released next year either(same goes to Versus 13 simply because they are still in pre production/alpha stage by the informations Nomura revealed). DC Universe if i remember was canned like year ago(but i might be wrong). the fact that some people list Last Rebelion as strong exclusive game feels like a joke to me - it's basically Valhalla Knights level of game but with first xbox level of graphics instead of early ps2.
