no ps3>xbox since most of the games are pc gmaes and who knows if alan wake or splinter cell doenst come and to the ps3 also?

along with mag,modnation racers,heavy rain,the agent,last guardian and killzone resistance or whatever,ms will need for natal to fly or drop the prices again,caus i dont think alan wake will cause as much hyoe as gow3

I like how Natal isn't mentioned by most people. MS is banking on that besides Halo Reach and the next Call of Duty to fuel holiday 2010 sales.

 Just so you know, alan wake is a microsoft IP(they own it) and splinter cell is unlikely coming to ps3 ubisoft said, otherwise i can say ffx 14 and agent will come to 360 aswell. Many of you inte thread take games that are not announced yet that's like i'm saying GeOW3 is coming next year(maybe does) and a new perfect dark comes out to.

There is one thing more i have to say you remember that natal will have a big launch title line-up so if it's coming in fall microsoft will get money and by money i mean money especially in:

Q1 Mass effect 2 comes out)

Q2 Alan wake is going to be advertised as hollywood movie, Crackdown

Q2/Q3fable 3

Q3 Halo reach do i have to say something else

(Q3)/Q4 Call of duty 7

Q4 Gears of war 3 if it comes out and some natal stuff and much more.

Therefore i declare the 360 a winner of 2010 over PS3 by a margin.

But you all should wait for E3 2010 like i'm doing(and GDC10 for some GeOW3 eventually)

 

Hardware:My predication is Wii on top, 360 5% better than PS3

 

Software(no wii bundles):360 winner, Wii/PS3 second by a margin

 

Remember Call of duty a first day million series specially 360

But really, the thread is clearly about domintating in sales from the OP, with Natal plus other criteria cited as reasons 360 will dominate - it's hardly a surprise that most replies are along the lines of "probably not, as the Wii will outsell it and the PS3 has a decent chance of doing so too".

360 I belive will have a good year for a console at its point in its lifecycle, and looks set to see some great games, but that doesn't change the broader landscape, where the Wii dominates HW sales and also delivers equally huge SW sales for core titles, nor where the PS3 is the 'younger' console and hence still at an earlier point in its sales growth curve.

I could care less about natal or the 360 for that matter. I expect it to sell less than both the wii and ps3. It just irritates me when nintendo fans get all cocky about sales of the wii when it has far and away the weakest library of games amongst this generation of consoles and little to offer adult gamers.

Yeah sure it's first place in sales but it's also last place amongst gamers.

I can easily see Xbox 360 winning software sales, they have too large of an install base not to sell more.

But in quality of software...you can expect 2010 to be a repeat of 2009. PS3 will have the better exclusives and Most likely win GOTY, again this is just a prediction putting in consideration the past two years it has been the same story.

In Hardware sales however I expect this so called "Hype" on the PS3 to continue throughout its lifetime.

I expect PS3 to sell roughly 12.5m each year

I expect Xbox 360 to sell roughly 10.5m each year

By the end of 2009
PS3: 31m
Xbox 360: 36m

By the end of 2010
PS3: 43.5m
Xbox 360: 46.5m

By the end of 2011
PS3: 56m
Xbox 360: 57m

By the end of 2012 and most likely the generation

PS3: 68.5m
Xbox 360: 67.5m



2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!
