I remember one trailer where somebody was racing a car then he pulled off and some other guy changed his tires

yeah but at the sa,me time the dude wasn't doing anything but is there any footage of two people playing at the same time?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

wasn't there something about how Natal could recognize multiple people? I think I remember something like that.

you sure about that? from the footage we can see on the site the thing seems to have enough trouble traking one person

Well obviously the end product may not handle it particularly well, and getting enough space for four people to use it could be difficult, but to my knowledge they have always intended for it to have the ability so until I see something proving otherwise I will assume that they'll succeed in making it possible to use a single camera for multiple people.

What happens
when ur playing a sensitive game, someone walks right in front of you? Will it ignore the person?

Yes, as they would need to be registered. We are lead to believe that the 360 will recognise you then track you even if you go off camera ish.

Until you can find a link that says it can't I am going to believe this

Wrong, the project's director, Kudo Tsunoda told me. He had me look at a special display set up as part of the ball-ricocheting demo. What I saw proved how clearly Natal was easily reading both my body and his as we both stood in front of the sensors. We appeared on screen as simplified, mutli-jointed stick figure skeletons within silhouettes of our bodies. It clearly saw us as separate people. There would be no problem, he said, for the system to support a game that let us play at the same time and track our movements separately.

I hear Natal can support up to 8 players. But can have any number of individuals in the living room while they play & it will not affect the game.

Check me out! Im dancin' Im dancin'! Anyway im sure the claptraps will all like it due to their small size and great interface with technology.

Tease.

Too much OLD thinking in regards to input. The system is a camera. A camera takes pictures(samples/instances) many times a second. Normally a CPU would handle this part, but Natal has a chip to do the following step. Differentiate between pictures. What this means is that any difference is considered motion. What does that mean. Thousands of bits of motion are capable. The second camera is used to determine degree of movement for depth. Ie 0bject farther away will move less between two compared images over 2 time samples.

So there is no technical limit to "number of players". It's more limited to physical space, distance from device and programmer design.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

This will help with some questions.

Even if it can track only one person, that's supposed to kill local multiplayer? An optional controller for one system?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
