Oh god, I LOOOOOOVED THE GUMMI BEARS! I still eat them to this day.
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight from Bleach is teh best opening music in the history of opening music. Except that it was running during the terrible "Bounto" filler arch. But it can't compete with the battle theme: "Got to be the center. . .OF ATTRACTION!" and Jazz Hands!
The opening of Veronica Mars season 3 used the same song of the two previous seasons but it was a remixed version.

Why would anyone want to change something that is perfect??

South Park springs to mind.
It's had like 5 different openings.
Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita
Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte
Sugu yoko de waratteita
Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo
I will never leave you
From the second season on, Weeds had a new rendition of "Little Boxes" for EVERY episode.

They change the scenes... where applicable. If a character dies, stuff like that. Otherwise... why bother?
Soriku said: Hey I like casual shows too. But they aren't the best. Shows like that don't need openings (many don't even have them). Also whenever I see stuff like cartoons and kids shows and such around I never see an opening change. Of course some of you guys haven't seen what I'm talking about and seen other shows that I haven't...but I find that Japanese shows change their openings way more often. I think zexen makes a good point though about the singles thing. |
That's totally the problem WITH Japanese shows though Soriku.
9 times out of 10, the original theme kicks ass... then the theme they replace it with is just ok.

Man Babylon 5 was a good show. It's sad they don't play it in syndication anymore. Those Sci-fi DVDs are always a ripoff.
