I think it is fair to say that the PS3 has managed that fantastic feet or sales spiking, and has almost spent all that hard won market share. Actually it is quite depressing when you realize that they only managed to squeeze another 200,000 units into the market with their latest sale. Perhaps in the end they will push a quarter million extra units over the coming months, but thats the thing about a spike the effect is temporary. Just like every other Sony sales spike. The price cut or the bundle kicks up sales for four weeks, and then they are right back where they started.
While it seems patently obvious to almost everyone that this is how Sony spikes their sales, and how the trend will progress. There are those posters who not only blatantly ignore the repetive tale of PS3 sales spikes, but each an every time point to them as a lasting success. During the past week we had a few such threads saying that the PS3 in the others regions was not spiking, and the effect would last for months. Further more many in these threads claim that the same offer in North America is going to have a permanent effect. Some of these posters even claim spikes are permanant dominance of some other platform.
Well I just know in the back of my mind that these very posters are going to play oblivious. Even though its right there on the front page saying hello to them. Yeah you got it the PS3 spiked again, and it was obvious it was spiking last week, but I suppose giving up fifty percent of sales in three weeks should be proof enough. Even if the spike bottoms out with another ten percent loss it will be right back where it started over a month ago.
I think we all heard the garbage enough over the past couple weeks that it would make us all feel a little better to vent in a victory thread. We were right, and they were wrong. Perhaps one day they will get tired of being wrong. Would be nice if they actually came into this thread owned up, and ate a little crow. Doubt that will happen though.
