It's been a long year, and with New Year's Eve fast approaching, the great console war of 2009 is coming to a close. Each system made their own moves to earn the consumer dollar, whether it be redesigns, price cuts, or amazing games. As we look back on the performances of each system in 2009, we can all remember some great experiences and some great games. And that brings us to this week's poll:

You can decide which system had the best 2009 by its games, its sales, or whatever qualification you'd like. It's entirely up to you.

As satisfied as I was with my Wii, I voted for PS3 due to its massive sales jump and appealing games this year. Congrats to PS3.

What have you done

Playstation 3...was a very nice year either in games or sales for the latter.

I thought a poll that's more vague and open-ended would attract more people to vote (and some awesome debates).

Well, mission (probably) accomplished

Playstation 3, the only system I bought games for this year. I think that was HUGE since I neglected it completely last year.

PS3. Uncharted 2, R&C: ACiT, Demon's Souls, AC2 and Batman: AA are awesome

In order I'd say

1 - DS - great sales and growth too
2 - Wii - great sales but growth slowed, still monster sales during December though
3 - PS3 - great sales and growth too, still under-performing vs PS 1 & 2 though
360 - very good sales but growth slowed, monster SW thanks to US game purchasing though
PSP - solid sales but really looking a little tired now with the growth of iPhone for gaming. Pretty decent first handheld though

PC I see separate from consoles and handhelds, and the usual year of ups and downs. Growth and monster sales of the right games, but continuing shift of former stalwart genres to consoles, particularly in US.
