I wont play the game at all since I'm against MMORPGS...I've seen what they've done to some friends of mine (well, ex-friends now)

Someone should start a FFXIV clan/guild/linkshell (whatever it's gonna be called) thread so day 1 we can go kill some shit together ;)

I would never play it then.  Because I would know I was paying for each second I was on there.  Even if I was paying less than I would with a monthly fee, It would make me more aware of it and essentially ruin the whole gaming experience.

I really hope they do do a one time fee - $199 seems like a good number to me, they probably stick 10k or so players per server.  I'm sure you that the maintenence and cost of a server wouldn't exceed 2 million :)

Then they make money off the x-packs

Can we establish the fact and yes I said fact that GOOD MMOs have subscriptions?
This game WILL have a monthly fee, if you arent expecting this or dont believe me the this game is not for you.

Depending on how the beta impressions go I might get it but im way more excited for Everquest Next
