That whole "walking in one spot" thing was a throwback to the old rpg's. Aside from a few cutscenes bonus missions and character classes (that I couldn't figure out how to unlock), FFT was a direct port of a 1997-1998 PS1 game.

Games like this are perfect for portables. You can play them in bite sized portions forever (I think I played 100hrs worth of Tactics!) and they never get boring. Yes. I'm definitely picking this game up. I'm going to avoid the thread now for fear of any more spoilers.
Thanks for putting this game back on my radar!
^ No problem, this game is definitely worth the buy! And now, I guess I'll get started on tactics!
I'm going to buy a PSP tomorrow. FF Tactics is going to be the first game that I am getting ^_^

Jeanne D'arc is really good, Level 5 should have more workforce and release more games on PS3 or Xbox. Graphical style is a lot better than FFT, but its true that FFT is still a better game. Its longer, theres more class and equipment, more thing to do and its a lot harder than Jeanne D'arc.
I tried to buy this game yesterday but my local Gamestop was raped! They didn't have anything for any console. I considered downloading but it's $22 on the PSN instead of $14 at Gamestop.
I watched some youtube videos. This game is exactly what I need! Why does fate taunt me so?
