If you're buying a new 360 then you shouldn't worry about RROD since the new Jasper model which should have replaced all older versions that was prone to overheating has a low defect rate.

he lives in brazil, he doens't have 3 or even 1 year warranty. |
Unlike Sony, MS actually released their current gen console two years ago here. The point is that you have to pay $900 for a crappy bundle containing an Arcade, HDD, remote controller, Too Human and PGR4.
BTW I was just checking MS site and it seems brazilian warranty cover only brazilian consoles =/ =/
Oh well, I guess the new Jasper models don't RROD that often, and should I ever get the ring, I could sent it to repair on the USA since I've relatives going to and coming back from there almost every month.

well i live central america, and sony sell ps3 via, sony style here. 399$ 2 games
Having a RROD is a rite of passage.
I had an E74 which is a mini RROD almost a "son of " RROD.
Truth is it gets fixed real quick within three years by which time 360's will be cheaper than chips.
However I would get a premium and not the Arcade if you have the funds.
For the people saying Microsoft won't fix his Xbox 360 in Brazil, do you know that for a fact or just guessing? I'm asking because I thought Microsoft Brazil covered repairs.
Is there anyone reading this thread from Brazil that has had a RROD and has contacted Microsoft Brazil only to have them refuse to honor the warranty on it?
Edit: Oops missed haxxiy's post on the second page of this thread.
I thought you could connect to PSN from Brazil....am I missing something? Anyways I don't own a 360 and probably never will as I usually borrow one when there is a game I wanna play on it. But as far as I have heard/read, the Jasper models were supposed to take care of the problems the 360 had in the past.

to have a warranty u have to pay the retailer alot of money. and u are practically paying for a second 360.
