I love Final Fantasy, I've played through 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2 and 12. I loved ALL of them, especially 9 and 10.
But.. and there's always a but, Final Fantasy 13 looks a bit too high tech and all. I don't get the usual Final Fantasy feeling.

Well the music is great, the characters are fine.. but like I said, I think it's too high tech
And the gameplay looks so messy.. I mean, from what I've seen everyone in the party attacks at the same time,
and everyone attack like 2-4 times, and there's alot of random thingys and splashes in the air and it all looks so messy IMO..
Is it true that you can only choose commands for 1 character like in FF 12? and that you cannot decide whom through the WHOLE game?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the game, just not as much as earlier..

Anyone else feels the same? Anything I missed?

I think the trolls have won. This is a gross exaggeration.

I've heard that you can't choose which character you want to control until like the last bit of the story line, which, depending on how they go about doing it, I don't really mind. I reserve to judge the game until I've played it for an extensive period of time, so I can't say I've felt like that.

I've just lost interest in the game and probably the whole serious.

Onna said that the first time playing it, you start to dislike it, and think its the worst FF game, then as time goes on, you start to love it.

Don't think, act instead and buy it cause you know you'll love:p

Dude, if you liked FFX, you will LOVE FFXIII. It is made by the same people!!! I've played the demo and I can tell you it left me BEGGING for more. Most of the anti-XIII stuff you hear is:

1 - Pissed of PS3 fans who can't handle the fact that it's no longer exclusive.
2 - People who don't like JRPG's to begin with!!! These people hated the game before it was even released! Now they just have ammo.

Does anybody have any other reasons to dislike FFXIII without playing it?

Yeah I will buy it, heck it's the reason I bought my Playstation 3 in the first place! :)
So it better be good, but I'm such a sucker for JRPG's so I'll probably sit there for 100's of hours maxing out everyones skills, getting all trophies, clearing all extra stuff and so on :D

But from looking at gameplay and reading reviews, I do feel a little disappointed.. I'll just have to see for myself

It's just all the high tech stuff turning me a bit off. But it's cool nontheless :)

To set the record straight, the character you use is based on the storyline.
You don't randomly use different characters.
At some points you have one group, and at other times, another. It is storyline driven, you aren't simply thrown into battle with whoever.
