It's weird to see Vanilla mafia winning after all the whining I heard during Soleron's last game.

my biggest beef with that was how long days/nights lasted

im okay with a power role game, so long as its not ALL or MOST people being power roles, some sure, but have some townies too and go easy on the night kills

It is probably in reaction to Round 12.  Sort of a "back-to-basics" movement perhaps.

Well, long day/nights are symptomatic of vanilla games.

Days go faster when you have more information.  The more activities that happen at night, the more information you have during the day.  The fewer activities that happen, the more you have to discuss things and the more you have to sleuth.

It doesn't matter if it's Soleron or me running the vanilla game.  Unless you all act like sheep and pile on people fast without reasoning (like we saw in the last game when nordlead attacked makingmusic476), the game will be long out of necessity.

I'm fine with running a vanilla game as that makes role setup really really easy, but I don't want to hear complaints later that the days are long and the game is taking forever to end.
