Forums - Microsoft Discussion - For all the PS3 and PC owners that complain about 360 "console" exclusives

It's not even an issue about PS3 vs Xbox although I know all the respective console fans want to make it one.

If you don't even bother to bring it up, it still boils down to fewer compelling exclusives that require you to own an Xbox (or PS3) when they are also available on PC.

It just so happens that there are more games being put out by SCE studios that never see the light of day on PC.

In either case, if you don't particularly care about whatever exclusives a given platform has, why bother even making it an issue unless it actually matters to you personally?

Jordahn you have completly misread his post. He wants to know why ps and pc gamers complain so much about ms console exclusives since they are available on the pc. I think it's a valid question? How did you come to the conclusion that you did, it really is a straight forward position.

Where have PC gamers complained about console exclusives that are available on the PC? I cannot think of one incident of that off the top of my head. I can think of some cases where the dev will butcher the PC version in some fashion, and people will bitch about that... same as if a dev butchered the 360 version, it would have some complaints.

But I think someone cooked up an argument against an imaginary foe for the sake of having an argument, is how it looks from here.

I think what everyone making this argument is referring to (it seems like the ones making the argument that PS3 and PC owners complain about console exclusives are not communicating their message properly) are the PS3/PC owners who say that the 360 doesn't have any good exclusives because they are all on PC (which is false). Like I've mentioned before in this thread, the 360 does have a number of exclusives, quality ones at that. Just a bit less. PS3 has 160 true exclusives, 360 has 119 true exclusives. So the PS3 has about one-third more exclusives but with the way that fanboys talk, you'd think the PS3 had loads more. So technically the 360 has more true exclusives (119) than console exclusives (75). PS3 fanboys that say that the 360 doesn't have many quality exclusives are either ignorant or they feel that they have to make up lies to justify not getting the console (which is quite sad. If you don't want the console because you want to save money for more PS3 or PC games instead of buying another piece of hardware or you dont have the time to game on yet another platform or you really absolutely don't find any merit in any of those 119 exclusives for whatever reason, then don't get it. No one is forcing a gun to your head to get it.)

Hmm, I think I see what you are saying.

Either way, my reasons for not getting the console are different for the most part.. though it is true there are only 2-3 true Xbox exclusives I want to play. I will say it is also true that the Xbox has a good stable of exclusive, in-demand software. I can see why it is popular, just between PC and PS3 I feel like I am pretty well covered for gaming, myself.

Most of those games are only on 360. I don't care for Microsoft but its for different reasons nothing to do with those games. In my opinion if you are a true gamer you have to have the PS3 and 360 now. They both have great exclusives. Also this thread seemed like a way to make people angry and start trolling. There really is no reason for it, Just about all those games are 360 exclusives anyway. When it comes to this 360 exclusives that are on the PC, in my opinion they are not exclusives. This goes for any system , if Sony had games on PC, its the same, even though you can not play these games on the PS3 that does not mean they are 360 exclusives. Look up the term, exclusive means exclusivly on something.  If it can be played on another system other then 360 it is NOT an exclusive. Also a system having more exclusives then the other does not make it better, I prefer the PS3 for many reasons, but I still really enjoy my 360.

I went through the list one by on on the Xbox360 and PS3, A large amount of the games listed are Japan only JRPG releases and some are DLC for the Xbox. Oh and 5 DDR games that were released for the Xbox before the PS3 was out.
There are also many that are listed as exclusives on either system that are not exclusives or were timed exclusives.

Either way, I do see your point. There are about 10-15 exclusive releases for the X-box that did not release on anything else that I think may be worth a look at cheap prices. I also have a lot more of an eclectic game preference then most people I know.
I will have to say that the argument for not getting a Xbox360 because most "Good" exclusives are available on the PC is a valid excuse. Of those 10-15 titles that I found that looked like they might be decent on the Xbox360, none of them individually or all together make it worth the expense of an additional console. Now this is just my view on the subject. Others who look at the list may find 50 exclusive they want to try and may make them want to buy an Xbox360.

The Wii has hundreds of exclusives that may be worth a look into, but most of them are cheap 5 dollar games in a 50 dollar package whipped up by EA. That does not forgo the argument that it does not have any major exclusive that Joe Blow or Tina Fae thinks makes it worth the investment. Or even that a PC has 50billion or so free flash games on it that you can't play on anything but a PC, is not going to make a console gamer need to buy a PC.

The argument about "Good" console exclusives on the Xbox360 that can be bought on the PC devalues the worth of the Xbox360 to certain people is based on value, not quantity, of said exclusives.

*the new up and coming exclusive for the Xbox360 "Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad" is more than enough reason for any 14yr pervert to want to buy an Xbox360*

I forgot to mention the four or five $5 Burger King games are listed in the exclusive list. Those just make me laugh.

How many copies of L4D2 have been sold on the 360?

What point are you trying to make by asking this question exactly?

You do realize it was also released for the PC right?

If this is an honest question and not one trying to prove a point, you do know you can look up games sales on this site, don't you?

Personal preferences are one thing and I respect that.  It's when PS fanboys (and this does happen often on the internet) say that the 360 doesn't have many quality exclusives as if it's fact when it's clear that the 360's exclusives are prized by it's userbase given the high sales. So we are in agreement.

360 exclusives that sold over 1 million: Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Halo 3 ODST, Forza Motorsport 2, Fable II, Saints Row, Forza Motorsport 3, Project Gotham Racing 4, Dead Rising, Halo Wars, Crackdown, Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Dead or Alive 4.

And in 2010, Crackdown 2, Alan Wake, Halo Reach and Fable III are all no brainers for the 1 million club.

Not one of these games consist of Onechanbara or Burger King. The perverted 14 year olds would rather buy DoA4 instead. lol. :p

I would say we are only in agreement to a point. This point being that you can't rule out a system without looking into it's library. That and the pint that Xbox360 does have some decent exlclusives, but not worth it for me. Here is a small example.

Of those 14 titles that are million+ sellers you listed and 4 to be million+ sellers, I only find 5 to be on interest to me.  Crackdown 1&2, PD:Zero,  Alan Awake and Saint Row.

As for for the Halo games: I think they are all over-rated, over-hyped games to which there are far better FPS games in both story, graphics and gampley available on the PC. Neither Forza or PGR 4 interest me since I like the gameplay and feel of Gran Torismo more. I am also a bigger fan of Tekken and not a fan of DoA.  I am not about to buy a 360 for those 5 games.

We all know that perverted 12-14yr olds are the major share holders in relation to xbox ownership. At least this is the indication I get when playing any game on Xbox Live at my bros. house.

I do not agree with you that the Xbox360 has a large amount of AAA exclusives. I don't think sales and popularity of a game make it great. There are numerous games that sold into the millions that are not great games. The opposite is true as well. I do admit that they have a large amount of exclusives and some seem interesting and may be great. I am sure there are many newer gamers that may find a large amount of those games to be great games. So, we agree to a piont, and disagree to a point.
