I hope not... I'd rather have something original, or another franchise, instead of yet another Mario sequel, even if it's really good.

Considering New Super Mario Bros. on the DS has continues to sell without a sequel, NSMBW 2 will probably have to wait until the next console..but it will come.

Yes but it could be awhile. NSMB Wii will sell loads for quite some time. Not to mention they want to ensure that Galaxy 2 sells a lot as well. Maybe a potential announcement at E3 2011 though but more than likely we are looking at Nintendo's next console (tentatively N6) until the next one. Same with probably a DS game similar to it. Same reasons why Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, etc won't be made for awhile too. They originals still sell so well over time.

nintendo knows what they're doing, they won't release another NSMB wii this gen, or probably even early next gen while the wii is still selling. They won't with Mario Kart either, and that was released a year and a half earlier. This is part of the problem 3rd parties are having, they have a successful game on wii then follow it up far too fast, but the tails on wii games are so long you have to be patient. I'm really surprised Rabbids can get away with it, that's really the exception.

I hope so. I hope they keep making 2D marios on consoles and not wait for another 20 years for a new one.
