Has anyone else noticed this?

In many different game pages, random pieces of text from comments and game summaries actually turn into links for products on Amazon.com

For example:

Jeanne D'Arc Page:

http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=3535

MontanaHatchet says:

This game sold pretty well for an un-hyped PSP title.

Will be buying it within this week. Will likely go down in my favorite games list.

And it leads to an Amazon.com page for Teletubbies 2: Favorite Games (PC).

I've seen this in many different game pages, pieces of text linking to Amazon.com products with similar names.

Did I miss something here? 

Seems like a new way of income for the site. But unfortunatelly my antivirus still detects an exploit somtimes.

I honestly find it entertaining to see what you get when you follow a link.

One time I clicked a link for Shigeru Miyamoto and it led to a biography for him on Amazon. That was just the darndest thing.

yeah. I'm not a big fan of it. And I definately won't click on any of those links out of principle. But whatcha gonna do?

its called adsense, you can install it on a website to create hyperlinks to ads or pages from text on your sites. Do if you had the words "video games" in a post or something it would create a link to say, eb.com

I haven't noticed, but that's probably because I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus.

Alright then, I'm just gonna lock this.

Ah crap, now we're getting those damn things as well. Hopefully there'll only be a few of them.
