With the latest sales figures, congratulations to the PS3 and Wii.

Week ending 26th Dec. Expect PS3 to sell 400k in NA, PS3 to sell 500k in Europe/Others, PS3 will sell 100k in Japan. Xmas sales week is always the biggest selling week of the year. Boooo Yeah.

A Grand total of 1 million PS3s will be sold for week 19 Dec to 26 Dec. Xmas sales week. PS3 continues to close its gap on it arch rival and bitter enemy XBox 360. XBox 360 should sell around the same as week ending Dec. 19, say between 650 and 700k.

Wii let's say it will get its biggest week of the year and hit 1.8 million (biggest sales of its ltd?) 3 weeks of 1.5 million+ Wiis sold in a row.

The margin between the PS3 and 360 will be around 5 million console units as of 31 December 2009 and falling. The sales weeks after the 26th December ends 3 January 2010 however the sales will be roughly half  a week's sales to close out 2009.

I recently bought a PS3 with 6 games but I have not updated my profile due to my loyalty to the XBox 360.

Anyway discuss my thread and give me your feedback.

2010 will be a huge year for gaming. Bigger and better than 2009. Mark my words.

Agreed, it will be at or above the 900k mark for everything but Japan. Add in the Final Fantasy/Holiday boost for Japan, I see 150-200k units seeming probable, which would make 1.05-1.1+ million units sold. It will be higher than this week for sure.

Also, you can't tell me they thought their price drop would have this kind of effect...they will be making money sooner than they thought.

Wii should sell no less than 1.2 Million. The week after no less than 400,000. 2010 will be a great year for wii aswell as PS3 and 360.

I think the PS3 will make another Million and will sell more than 100K in japan for sure my guess is even another 200k is possible.

The Wii will be 1.5 Million and the XBOX360 will be 800K.

Last year's HD sales of the holiday week ending December 28th were around 87,25% of the week before (ending December 21st).
Since this year's December 26th can be compared better to December 28th I'd say:

87,25% x 1002k = ~870k PS3s
87,25% x 658k = ~570k 360s
for the week ending December 26th

^Huh? You mean many people have done most of their shopping the week before christmas?

I doubt it somehow. I can see Others/Americas being up ever so slightly (I'd guess it will be in the +/- 25k margin though), but Japan will surely go down by at least 35%. I'd guess 900-925k personally.

I doubt PS3 will get to 1 million again. All those bundles are gone so it'd have to have a bigger week in NA & Others. I suppose it is very possible, but improbable.

Well, no, but this is a simple calculation using last year's data when the charts' weeks even ended on other days. So my prediction is indeed quite vague. But let's not forget that the PS3's FFXIII boost will be gone next week.
