Nope, he's from Topeka, Kansas. As is my Fiancee, so she showed me his original church where it all began. What bothers me the most about this guy, isn't really that he's doing it, I mean he's a shock-jock. He's the Howard Stern/Rush Limbaugh of hating teh gays. What bothers me is that the majority of Christians in America just allow it to happen. Basically, Christian America supports him. If they thought what he was doing was wrong or ugly (which it is, he cherry-picks bible verses but completely misses the message that Jesus tried to get across) they would be out there counter protesting him with signs that say "Don't listen to this guy, listen to Jesus!" or "Jesus loves everyone, this guys just a nut!". But they're not. They just allow it to happen, my guess is sitting in their homes watching coverage unconsciously (or consciously) nodding their heads with visions of salt pillars in their heads. The Christian churches of America have become dens of hypocracy and complete disregard for the message of Jesus Christ, whom they all claim to worship, but conveniently ignore whenever it suits them. Just like Fred Phelps. |
Well, sure it's wrong but that's life sometimes. You give a lot more leeway to your side than you do to the opposing side. Either way, he's basically doing the opposite of his goals, to get rid of gay people. We're growing a lot more tolerant, I think, b/c we see how crazy the intolerant are.
I'm not one of those that dont like christians either, I like all religions. I also think that christianity will change with the times, it's starting to and I hope that it continues on this path.
