Forums - Sony - When the PS3 is $199, What will happen?

I still think a lotta people are holding back from the $299 price tag but current sales have shown the PS3 is a force to be reckoned with.

So what do you think will happen to the x360 when the ps3 is $199 and could it have a chance surpassing the Wii or that's very unlikely?

DISCUSS.

It will never pass the Wii, but at 199$ it will more than likely pass the 360.

It would be chaotic!

nah i think the $250 price point will hit next year
$199 2011

It would get most of its sales at $199

like every console does

$199 will come after a couple of years but I'm expecting a price tag of $250 in 2011 sometime.

Why would they lower the price if they're already super-successful with the $299 tag?

The world will end
What was that... someone already made that comment
ah screw it, post

You'll be looking at all the PS4 games coming out... plus games for the other next gen consoles.

Only a minor sales boost. $299 is generally seen as an "ok" price tag for the ps3 so many will adopt it at that price. When it gets to $199, I dont think there will be as many people who want ps3s and still haven't gotten it because its too expensive
