All I know is, PS3 fans underestimated Microsoft before the launch of the 360. Then 360 fans underestimated Sony before it's first price cut. Then PS3 fans underestimated the 360 pricecut, then 360 fans underestimated the slim/$299.

and now PS3 fans are underestimating natal/price cut.

Positions isn't the only thing yo yo'in this generation.

the problem with the 360, 70% of their console are sold in two country.

I don't really see the Ps3 ever passing the 360 in sales, it's already selling less in NA, UK, and Australia. I think it can get the gap down to maybe 4 million, but once Natal releases and another big price cut for the 360 in 2010 the gap will likely increase and expand to 9 million by the end of 2010. Only time will tell.

Ms stands and falls with natal. if natal will move a couple of million Xbox360s additionaly then there will be a gap. But if natal is just a mediocre success there is no chance for the Xbox to win the second place this gen.

I also see that Gem could be as big (or small) as natal after all ot could be a funny gimick and could improve fps on PS3 and the Ps3 would benefit before Natal even launches the next year decides everything. Its the final round. Then Sony and MS have no ammunition anymore.

I am confident that the Gap will be closed until 1.1.2011 ofcourse there are some unknown factors mainly Natal and Gem (also FFXIV). So everything can happen but If someone would force me to bet my money I would bet on Sony.

yeah 9 million is a little high, that was assuming that Natal sells several million in christmas 2010.  If it fails to catch fire, which I don't see happening, the number will definately be much lower.

It has already dropped to 150 euro's officially here (although it's a holiday trick until the end of January). Stores are taking another 20 off the price cut to 150 euro's though, making it 129.99

its possible for there to be no gap end of 2010 if sony can win the holiday price cut wars or it can remain at around 5.5m even at the end of 2010

i c the gap being down to the 3m range b4 sep begins after that is hard to tell this early

I still think the ps3 will pass the 360, but might not be until 2011.  GT5 will further the spread in Europe.  FFXIV, SO4, RoF, and Final Fantasy versus XIII will be giving a huge boost to the ps3 in Japan.  GoW3 will help in America, but I doubt the ps3 will pass the 360 in the US.  But the dominance it will end this generation with in other countries will more than make up for it.
