Okay I finally managed to finish Suikoden 1 through 3 and decided to take a break from story heavy games. After I was done with Sly Cooper (wich I found fun but ridiculously short), I've decided to kick back and play my favorite game of all time once again.

So I'm playing through the SNES version. And yes I do own a copy of it, although I lent it to a friend of mine (who I haven't seen or talked to in 2 months... starting to get suspicious), so I'll be playing it on an emulator.

I also thought this would be a good oportunity to play the retranslation made by Chrono Compendium. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Woolsey's work, but I'm curious because this project set out to follow more closely the Japanese version.

I'll update this thread as I go through the game.

lol I love that pic. Crono is all napping and shit... Frog just tripped over some books... Lucca's fixing Robo... it's all just so wholesome. Makes me feel all warm inside.

Update:

I've just finished rescuing Marle. Apparently her real name in the Japanese version is Marledia. That makes "Marle" a horrible alias. How did Crono not see that?

I'm also noticing a lot of things I did not notice before. Like right after you defeat Yakra he says he'll create a court and a prison to deal with events like these in the future. So Crono is actually partially responsible for his own arrest!

Also, Toma provides clues as to where Leene is being held captive... if you buy him Sake! Yeah, he doesn't drink soda at all! I should've guessed... just look at him:

And you know what... I'm starting to think Ayla doesn't really serve you soup in the Prehistoric! How would Lucca get all giddy on soup?!
