It was excellent, tons of great games, but also tons of crap ones but it has a solid library.

And ... um ... the NES was followed by the Game Boy. The Game & Watch series actually predates the NES.

I want a new Super Wii golden era : ), i think Malstrom already mentioned an explained all those points once already
-The controller: its meant to be simple to attrack the people that found computers too complex
-The "casual" games: This games make the console look more useful to the average person
-The weird controllers: It was hard to put a videogaming console on America, so they disguised it as a toy with a R.O.B and the Zapper

Because obviously the opinions of people voting with their wallets and actual, real money carries much less weight than the aggregate worthless opinions of jaded, fat, sweaty nerds with some delusion that anyone outside their tiny niche of core gamers gives a crap about what they have to say.

The NES had no real (console) competition.
As others have mentioned, the NES was treated by PC enthusiasts and western developers as an 'inferior', outdated piece of hardware, much like the Wii. When you look at it, the Wii is almost a mirror image of the NES.
Lastly, using metacritic in your argument, when it's established that there is no integrity in gaming journalism today? Seems kinda desperate on your part.

Not 100% sure I get "it was with", but I think I understand. You mean the NES and Game & Watch were out at the same time, sort of in tandem.
You could say the same thing for pretty much ALL Nintendo consoles, though.

indeed... there was shit loads of shit unlincence games as well.. i wonder why nintendo never coart up to the developers that are making unlincence products for the nes lol
