Story:
The story is set in a world that has been disfigured by the use of nuclear warfare, and someone's intellect isn't really subsituted for anything. The only thing that matters is strength, stength is the law of the land and without it... Well your screwed
Here we meet Kenshiro the sucessor of the definitive martial art style "Hokuto Shinken". At first we believe that he is only here to save his beloved Yuria from the Clutches of Shin but the story goes above and beyond that, his fate as the sucessor may entail peace or destruction for that century.
Character development:
My first impression was this was going to be it's weakest department, but it really came off strong the main characters make a noticable impression, expressing their individuality, Stenghts and weaknesses.
I also love how Ken never goes back on his words. Hearing these words has already secured your untimely demise "omae wa mo shinderu"
The only miniscule criticism is that Jagi character isn't as justified compared to the manga.
Animation:
For an anime released in the early 80's the animation stand out, to me it even places head and shoulders to the releases out now. My gripe about anime these days is how the author/Illustrator is trying catering for the mainstream audience which is mainly Yaoi- Fangirls an art direction has taken a downward spiral.
The other which actually has to do with the review is how they rehash scenes in the anime , this is only notable in the fight scenes with the minions that no one care's about.
Sound:
Ultimately the strongest category everything is sown together just perfectly, the seiyuu's are absolutely amazing they pretty much put the flesh on the character.
I like to use this opportunity to commedarate their work, also to give my condolences to Kaneto Shiozawa (VA for Rei) even though he died over 9 years ago after watching this series I believe he deserves it
Overall impressions:
I would encourage anyone to watch it, this isn't subjected to anime fans only. My older brother genuinly hates anime but he found this a place in his heart. Also kinda puts things in perspective how the industry has fallen the only thing I loved from this decade is Gurren Lagnn and One piece. The rest are either sub-par or doesn't stand up to their manga counterparts.
So I'll give this a wholesome 9.7/10 a must watch by all
Also I suggest everyone after watching 5 episodes to get the general idea of the story just skip to episode 22. After the slow initial start the anime just explodes to orgasmic epicness.
(I like everyone to give me constructed criticism on my review, as I'll love to build on my skills and do this in a annual basis)
