| Chrizum said: Ouch, Epic has really made a fool out of themselves... Frist they say the engine can't run on Wii, then they say they won't bother with "underpowered" hardware, and now they've ported the engine to a freakin' iphone (about as powerful as a Dreamcast). Really makes you think! |
no the Iphone is more powerful than the dreamcast. not to say the dreamcast was not a great game console or anything because for me it was, but its no contest. the Iphone is quite robust in its Hardware.

That has to be the worst control scheme I have ever seen for a first person game.

for me I think it's OK, but yea i would agree not the best, for me that is, I prefer the game control layout of a standard game controller for game console's or PC's, but you have to work with what you have on hand an if it may take me a little getting used too i don't mind.
It's the new game experience that make's it fun for me.

vlad to you anything without keyb/mouse is terrible :)
the controls are awesome if i judge from gameloft's nova/sandstorm i dare to say that you are not missing physical buttons at all
and they are definitely better than psp (no 2nd analog) or ds (playing with stylus or finger strap)
its the best "fps" portable machine at the moment by far
THis is kinda silly, the iPhone is terrible for games. Has anyone here ever tried anything but a basic casual game on the iPhone? Re4 was godawful on it.

that should open up a few new function's that some developer's may want to exploit.

are they still going to stick to
a Samsung Arm core?

the new games deliver on both controls and looks

I think it hold's great stride's for game's for a handheld in my opinion
it's just not the main direction of development when the Iphone was first released, now that it's maturing as a development platform for Game's
that may change. you have to start somewhere
look at the DS, AND THE PSP game development was the main direction of the DS when it was first released, not so much for the PSP it was a handheld multi-function entertainment device. the Iphone was mainly for communication quite a far cry from being designed as a game machine like the DS OR THE PSP. Though it does not take away that the Iphone could indeed be a great handheld game machine an in some cases some already think so.
