That might've been where the intent started, but that's not where the series is today.  Today, KH is sold to mostly American kids and tweens.

I do agree that they've been delaying with KH3 though, the handheld spinoffs are a sign of that as is Versus and I expect a Wii spinoff to work it's way out too.  To me it seems like Nomura wants KH3 on PS3, but market realities are forcing him to stall... Versus will probably be the final indicator.  If it sells amazingly (ballpark 5m+), he'll get his PS3 exclusive.  If sells what's expected (3-5m), he'll likely get to stay HD multi at least, with the FFXIII justification (360 port for the west).  If it underperforms (3m or less), he'll have to do PSP or Wii depending on which spinoff does better.

They're moving multiplatform for HD. SO4 and FFXIII went multi.  Last Remnant and Batman AA were multi.  Supreme Commander 2, Nier, Front Mission Evolved, K&L2 and FFXIV are multi.  The only actual SE HD exclusives are (1) a Microsoft IP and (2) a FF spinoff.  Why would they ten go exclusive for their #3 series on one of the HD platforms? 

And your Disney quote really isn't exactly helping matters.  Which audience has more likely crossover with KH, Halo/GTA or Mario/Zelda/Sonic?  Going off that, where do you think Disney wants KH3?

MGS4 got the near ultimate moneyhat and has been in development since before the gen even started.  And the next HD MGS has still gone multiplatform.

It is a good example though, and it did slip my mind.  I don't think Sony's going to pony up like that again for KH3 though, when they didn't for FFXIII.

Nomura's done 2 DS games already versus only 4 PSP games (only 1 of which is out yet).  And one of his whopping 2 PS3 exclusives already went multi.  I don;t think you can just assume automatic PS-family exclusivity with Nomura these days, that's just not what his track record suggests today.

Last time I looked FFXIII wasn't his game.

He's working on it.  He probably doesn't have ultimate control over it's platform selection, but I'd say the same likely holds true for KH3.  Versus is the test...
