Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Getting Light Gun Excited!

I just checked out that Brando product. Interesting that you can detach the nunchuk part. I wonder if you can do that on the fly. I'm not seeing anything about calibration, but if you have a link to it, I would love to check it out. Calibration is something that should have been considered from the beginning with these light gun games, but it might be easy to overlook it at least in these first games. I think regardless of calibration functions, I would still like to have that, and maybe use the Link's Crossbow Training one for multiplayer.

I hope RE UC is better. I remember reading that it had gotten a little better. One of the videos that I saw today showed graphics that were almost passable too. Maybe it has turned around, I'll probably get it anyway, but I'd rather play a good game if I'm going to play one. Who wouldn't? Still these are first gen light gun titles. With only a year since the Wii release, I'm also glad we are getting some original content now.

From IGN:

"Also included to help make the "cursor off" mode a bit more forgiving is a Wii-mote IR calibration mode, where you're asked to shoot the bottom right corner of the screen, then the top, and then the middle, essentially tuning your IR for more accurate shooting. "

My End of 2008 Hardware Predictions (console only):

i love it, i will get them all except MOH(Got Ghost Squad already)
Those light gun games are damn real fun

Just unlocked the Ninja Mode in Ghost Squad, it's hilarious
Apart from soilders turned into ninja, Helicoper becomes big kite, Boat becomes giant toad

Read that there is a bikini mode when i completed Ninja Mode ^.^"

Oh, you meant in Ghost Squad. Thats awesome. I just hope it works as it touts, and if so, I hope more developers follow suit.

stclam, You've already got Ghost Squad? How did you manage that?

The Japanese version released 2 weeks already
I got it with the Zapper bundle last friday

there are 3 control schemes
i think the zapper mode is fine, except that i have to press the (+) button to skip cut-scene video
if you dont have the zapper, you can use the wiimote only mode
(B) is shoot, (A) is action button

I'm not sure about the new zapper at all. It looks awfully clunky, and the wiimote by itself works well enough as a light gun anyway.

it's not clunky to me, that's just about right
i hold it for an hour and didn't feel tired
i'm 5'9 tall and the size is perfect for me
some big and tall western gamers may find it a little bit small?

if it's too light in weight, you dont have the feel of holding a gun
and probably more difficult to control, since your hands may move too much and hard to aim precisely

i tried the wiimote alone, i definitely like the Zapper more
so i will buy the "crossbow trainng" too, in order to get another Zapper for 2P

The price of RE: UC bundle is insanely high here, as there are some RE soveniours (leather card holders, 32 pages books..) inside the box

Yeah I'm going to end up with two as well.

I like that they put those extras into Ghost Squad. I love quirky unlockables like the alternate sprites in Mario World for completing Star Road.

I just got excited again. haha.

They require you to get the extras with RE:UC? I knew you guys got a lot more promotions and such but they force you? That's not cool.

ghost squad --looks like it will be blast--i love light gun games

There are 2 package for you to choose from
one is bundle with zapper, another is just game

For the Zapper bundle, there is a UE card holder inside
