Depends on what you mean by a comeback. Hardware wise its highly doubtful they'd make a comeback. The costs(atleast a billion$) is way over their league. Now consider the amount of advertising, 3rd party carrot sticks etc etc would be too much for them to deal with. However, what they can start with is become the 3rd party powerhouse they sought out to be in 2001. They do have some successful titles
Phantasy Star-PSP
Yakuza-PS3
Sonic- continues to sell despite horrid/mediocre reviews
HoTd,sonic,mario&sonic-Wii
And their deal with platinum is pretty good. Madworld wasnt half bad, bayonetta is quite good. Sure they score a couple of duds now n again.. golden axe, the club etc but they show some promise.
The road to recovery honestly would be simple.. they have a classic game catalogue only second to nintendo. Hell they should release Half of the DC titles on XBLA/PSN.. they can make a shitload of money off that- with little or no costs.
And SEGA shd bring back SOR, crazy taxi, alex kid.
I really dont know why SEGA continues to make new IP's when it has a treasure chest of good ole ones.. look at nintendo- they have barely made any new IP's in the last few years but have the most successful sales record.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
