you can't be serious. The first one was a joke and the second one marketing for their zune. Everybody knew the zune was created to compete with the iPod. That was just PR.

 

Obviously, how can anybody remain serious when Ballmer's involved?    He's an outstanding dancer and comedian, but he's not versed in marketing...

Anyhow, the iPod Amnesty Bin was considered amusing, but not in the sense MS desired, and very pathetic as marketing effort (and Zune's appalling results, initial bugs and quirks and ugliness, despite the money and resources spent on it, didn't help)

Taking Lord Flashheart's advice I did type in "Sony Sued" and the inevitable patent infringements appeared. The one item that did catch my eye jogged my memory was the ficticious reviewer David Manning that Sony used to promote its film.

Basically Apple, Sony and Microsoft are not exempt from these types of infringements. Although most do not create fake reviewers that is a bit special.

I forgot about Bleem. They wasn't doing anything wrong within the law yet sony forced them out of business by keeping it in the courts til they ran out of money.
Sounds like a huge corporation bullying a smaller company to bankruptcy.

Anyway imports have happened since gaming began. It's how Sega began yet Sony went after LK and drove them out of business so they could keep selling there products at extortionte prices compared to other countries with the usual delays to the region.

If they go after 1 importer they must go after all off them? Play-asia are still going.

How about the rootkit you get with sony cd's? the racist adverts? the advert with a guy who has his penis replaced with a thumb? using patents for security software in the PS3 without permission? (similar to the MS case you brought up) Lying to it's customers about not having features to hide the fact they're in court over those features? and so on and so on.

Sony are just as bad as MS and anything you can find on MS i'm sure I could find for Sony and if not I could find something Sony has done that MS hasn't to keep the scores level.

If you're so morally driven in life and dislike MS because of their business practice then you cannot like sony. Why is it so wrong for one company yet the other remains, in your eyes, having a strong moral centre?
Pray you don't get on their bad side because then you'll see how saintly they are. Whatever the reason behind the Apple MS deal you won't find anything like that from Sony.

If you want to hate on MS find a better excuse and do it somewhere else other than an MS forum as you wont find much support and may have the bubble you're in burst. Big business' do bad things so do small ones. If you think you'll find a company to work for that lives up to your ideals then you'll be unemployed for a long time or will have to close your eyes to their activities like you do with Sony.

Lol Bleem could play pirated ps games, imagine how much a threat that is to a business.

I must admit that advertising was sickening, but lets face it they come from a different culture.

No I don't think so.
The courts seemed to be on the Bleem makers side. Sony lost yet they ran them out of business by dregging it through the courts. Couldn't they accept they lost? To run bleem you needed the game disc so there was sales there.

And I'm not making excuses you are. You're trying to condemn MS and pass of Sony as Saintly whereas I'm saying they're are as bad as each other.

I wonder where you get your moral compass from?
