Forums - Sony - Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Just had the chance at last to download the demo, and WOW, they really have mades leaps and bounds compared to Portable Ops.

It really does look great and plays pretty damn good as well.  It does play like MGS4 on the PSP, although 2 things that did stand out that I didn'tlike were that the guards didn't really notice you very well, you could literally run up behind one and they would only notice you at the last minute if at all...and the lack of a pause facility...I really hope a pause feature is included as standard like 99.9% of games, as the pick up and play and portability of a PSP is effectively killed by removing this facility.

Anyway, it looks fantastic for a PSP game.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

@davygee : on the PSP Go at least, if I stop / start my PSP the game is still here, plus I can use the 'pause game' function if I want to play something else then come back to MGS PW, so on this model at least, there are ways to pause the game.

I've got a PSP-1000 and when you press start to pause the game, it only brings up the map, but all the action is still on in the background.

Oh ok I see what you mean. Well, that's definitely a feature wanted by Kojima, because it would be very easy for them to pause the game.

Same thing if you switch weapon, the game still goes on.

Probably to keep us on our toes and make it harder for us to watch the map or switch weapons...

Play it on Adhoc party is very very fun online/adhoc.

go psp GO! lol :D

PSP Go is a great system, I love mine. It's light, sexy, with a great screen. No need to bring UMDs with you either. I don't regret my purchase at all...

Sure, it's expensive, but as Sony stated, sales were above their expectation.

They knew they wouldn't sell millions, it's a premium product, priced 249€ here in Europe. I know it's a difficult concept to grasp, but not every product is made to sell millions. Some products are just flagship products which showcase inovations.

Well I'm just ordering mine :), I just hope European PSP store will get update, since there aren't many games yet.

I sorta want a PSP Go, but then how would I play FF Tactics (not available for download) or some other game that I already bough.  And with a decent memory stick, using a PSP 3000 means I don't have to bring any UMDs, too!  I have a slew of PS1 games, a few movies, about 200 songs, and maybe 20 comic books on my 3000!  Glad you're enjoying your purchase, but the sexier style just doesn't justify the higher price/lack of UMD support.

On topic, the MGS PW demo is so far beyond MGS PO that it's not even funny!  This game is my most wanted PSP game of all time.  I can't wait for the full release!!

Downloaded the demo. Really good so far even though the camera controls take some time to get use to.
