So I played the demo the other day of Dante's Inferno and like its basically God of War. So many things are similar; the combat, the magic, the in game cut-scene's (like when the boat crashes in the first part of the demo), the dodging/rolling manuevers, button layout, the health and mana fountains, the button sequences, the naked women, and probably some other stuff im forgetting. Did the makers of this game like totally copy God of War. I'm not saying it's a bad thing since i love God of War, i'm just sayin that there is no originality. Like even the text and text boxes are very similar. I dunno it just bothered me a little bit and i gotta vent.

This happens alot in the game industry. Legend of Dragoon wouldn't have been made if it weren't for Final Fantasy VII.

yea i know, but like everything down to a T? ive never played legend of gragoon and ive only played a lil FF7...were they exactly alike?

I loved it. It played a lot like god of war, and that is a great thing. The magic was better in dante, the voice acting was better to.

I love God of War and I am going to love Dante's Inferno

What really amazed me was how similar opening chest in GoW and cracking water fountains in DI were so.... fuck you'd swear it was the exact same shit @_@. They're both even colored for what you're getting from the fountain.

yea i mean its not a bad thing in any way...just how everything can be related back to GoW is amazing

Dante's Inferno is a good game, but it is so similar to GoW, its hard for me to enjoy it without noticing a similarity >_>

Not exactly alike but they both had CGI scenes as a selling point.  Now that you mention it, Shadow Madness was more of a rip off to FFVII than LoD was.  They both had similar graphical styles as well as similar looking main characters.

legend of dragoon is nothing like ff 7 and it is also a much better game, even tho they are both masterpieces.

please don't ever say legend of dragoon rips off ff7 again thats the dumbest thing I have ever read on this website
