You mean just like Square decided to move from Nintendo to Sony during the PSOne era.

Absolutely.  I'm just saying I know some are annoyed at SE's business decisions, but that's what they are, business decisions - and in the case of FFXIII the deed is done.

Now maybe the PS3 version has changed due to 360, although I haven't seen any real evidence for that.

I personally can only see two valid impacts, that on BR you could have a completely open world where you can travel anywhere without pause, vs on 360 needed to swap the disk, and that could have resulted in changes to the design to align the progression to the 360's multiple disks, and that due to BR storage vs DVD Japanese language support may be dropped for PS3 (although personally, if the rest of the game is the same, I don't see why SE wouldn't put Japanese language on PS3 Western version vs not having it on the 360, I doubt most 360 owners would care).

But... I haven't seen one concrete link where it is clear SE changed their design when they decided to support 360.  For all we know the design hasn't changed much at all, and if the game is more linear to begin with then that might have been the original design.  As for the language, I haven't see it confirmed yet what the deal is with that (I have to confess its not of interest to me but I know it matters to others).

However, whether the PS3 version has changed or not, whether PS3 version doesn't get Japanese language due to 360 or not - the deed is done, the game's already out in Japan, so I just figure it's time people stopped giving yourself an ulcer about it (I case about my fellow VGCharters!) and just accepted that SE made a decision that they felt was best for their business and that's that.

This isn't the same as when a game releases on wii and 360. On that hand a person will have to go toward what he cares more about the way a game plays or the way a game looks. Case and point CoD played the same on PS3 and 360 but had a better community on 360. Everyone got the 360 version for the better online experience.

On this topic It's just about how a game sounds and how FMVs look. No better community is going to make you lean in one direction and in-game graphics are the same. Why not choose the one with slightly better sound and FMVs with no disc swap?

2 simple reasons:

Achievements/Gamerscore

Massively more comfortable (for me) Xbox 360 controller

The FMV compression differences will most likely not be noticable.  An MP3 file can easily be 1/10th the size of an uncompressed WAV file without most people being able to hear the difference.  That means you could compress 10GB worth of uncompressed audio to 1GB or at most 2GB without most people noticing.

To be honest if i had the Xbox 360 and PS3 i would easily get it for the PS3. Simple as that
Why are people even talking about the controller? Both feels the same to me but the 360 Analog stick is more stiff but its still prove no differences.
Why would i get it on the PS3 instead of 360? Simple - Uncompressed Data, 1 Disc which is scratch resistance. Then again 3 disc is no problem but on the real 1 Disc over 3 Disc anytime. Whoever says they'll pick 3 disc over 1 is a Pure Fanboy lol Both version will be very similar but PS3 version will no doubt have the edge so why not pick the best version?

Still Mass effect 2 looking Beastly =P

I only pointed that out because you said PS2. There are lot's of exclusive PS3 games which I'm sure could be done on one DVD (though of course they may to use compression techniques in order to do so).

As for RPG's they often end up being multi disc and no one's complained before (each disc is about 10-15 hours). Also 360 has optional hardware install which is used to combat load times, streaming data from disc on the fly (ala MW2) and multiple disc issues so I really hope Square don't make any design choice changes due to the disc swapping some 360 owners will have to do.

And though Blu Ray has much more space available let's not forget the amount of space all these fancy uncompressed HD video and sound take up hence we are seeing multiple Blu Ray disc releases in the movie market. I'm most annoyed by the fact my amplifier doesn't playback the newer HD audio codecs so I had to watch Terminator Salvation in Dolby Pro Logic II.

No need to convice me - I'm saying there's no evidence that PS3 version has been horribly compromised.  The PS3 does have a space advantage over 360, but that only really means one disk vs disk swaps, not that the game can't be the same.  The install on the 360 I tend to disregard as not all 360's can support it, therefore in principle any game has first and foremost to work without one on 360.

As for fitting a game onto one DVD, most still do.  For better or worse the early release and success of the 360 has pegged most titles as aiming for a single DVD as the standard - rendering the extra BR space somewhat irrelevant for most titles.  Exclusive PS3 titles do tend to use it for the AAA titles, either by having more texture variety, less compression or higher audio capability, but those are the minority examples at the moment.

Oh, and of course I meant to say PSOne not PS2, my bad there.  I was just reminding people SE have shown before they will switch or expand platforms if it suits them.

And theres Cross Game Voice Chat. Some people like to talk while playing.

If I'm playing a game for 20+ hours as a single player experience then I want to do it while being able to chat with my mates on Live.  I could do the same on PSN but my friends list is small on PSN and I prefer the Live crowd I've met and gamed with for 2 years.  Calling people fanboys because they happen to enjoy gaming differently to you says more about you that it does other people.
