Forums - Website Topics - ERROR in the thread poll

There was a new feature added a few days back in VGC that users can create their own Polls like a thread.I was very happy with this feature as I wanted to create many Polls. But there seems to be an glitch in the Polls.

At the time when I vote,it counts my vote and shows me the results.Even if I leave that thread and re-visit that thread after sometime it still shows me the result as it should be.There is no problem with this.

But if I re-visit that thread say after 2 hours or more,it shows me the Poll where i can vote again and not the result. It allows me to vote again and again after a few hours. This should not be happening.

One user should be only entitled to one vote per poll.

^he may also just have a dynamic ip .. that changes a lot XD

Check out my game about moles ^

Or it could be a glitch you guys are all dismissing

yeah, that happenes to me too. why not be happy? you get as many votes as you want :D

I was able to vote twice in two consecutive days. If my IP changed in the meantime, I don't know, I know there's no proxy, though

Erm - I wrote the code, I know it allows one vote per IP address. I'm sure the same 'glitch' happens on the main poll on the front page...  :|

When the poll was first created it would let me vote for every new page. It just didn't count the votes. He may be experiencing the same I problem I had

were you at school? I could vote on/off at my work yesterday.

Typically your home internet access switches at most 1 time per week. (mine almost never changes) While places like Work of School may switch between IP adresses a lot faster depending on their setup.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Why don't the votes record usernames instead of ip's? Then you can't change it and vote twice.

No, always from the same PC

EDIT: I can't say if the vote was counted, maybe it wasn't, but I'm sure I was able to pick choices again instead of showing results

Then we'd eliminate anonymous voting altogether - as it stands, visitors can vote both on the front page and in these forum polls.

O, didn't know it was supposed to be anonymous and that visitors could participate.
