@bonkers: That's not up for you to decide, and at the rate pre-orders are going, it looks like the PS3 version will sell better in North America, though it should be close numbers in the end. If FFXIII being on Xbox 360 does not indicate support from Square Enix, I don't know what will.

OT: I think it should be able to do over 1 million, which is good, as it clearly shows there is a fanbase for JRPGs on the Xbox 360.

That what I mean.  I love how this gen have changed.  How many time did the Xbox got shafted by Konami, Sega, Namco, Capcom and Square Enix last gen?  The Japanese developer didn't show M$ Xbox any love last gen.

Tecmo was cool awesome though.

Last gen was pretty one-sided though, even though the Xbox had plenty of great games I can think of (Namco Bandai did an amazing job with BreakDown, the most underrated Xbox exclusive game ever). Seeing healthy support for all consoles from publishers this gen makes me happy.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Sorry, but what does that stand for?

I wish all xbox 360 JRPGs fans pick this game for the 360. It will show Square Enix that the North America xbox 360 would love to have support from them. Please if you have a Xbox 360 and PS3 pick up the 360 version. I know me and friends and family will.

Sorry, but Infinite Undiscovery, FF13, Star Ocean, The Last Remnant, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon.

I think you guys have had your chance

And I own all those games on that list except for FF13.  More JRPGs for my Xbox 360 the more happy I am.

BTW you should add Spectral Force 3, Magna Carta 2 and Operation Darkness (WORST GAME THIS GEN) on that list.

So you agree that the 360 fanbase have shown that it can't support JRPGs?

Let me ask you this.  Beside FF13 what other JRPG game on the PS3 sold more then Lost Odyssey?

Well, to be fair, what other JRPG has been out as long as Lost Odyssey, that was exclusive to the PS3, that has a worldwide release?

Does Valkyrie Chronicles and Disgaea 3 count?  I know they are SRPG.

Yeah, the SRPG thing hindered those, even though VC is really showing consistent legs of late.

Then its unfair to say that the 360 user base doesn't support JRPGs.  No other PS3 JRPG game have surpass Lost Odyssey.  With how great Demon's Souls and Valkyrie Chornicles I don't think any of those two can catch up to Lost Odyssey.

I believe in a MW2 scenario for FFXIII(Please, don't understand me wrong, I mean how sales will splitt between plataforms, not absolute number!).

MW2 will sell 70/30 between 360/PS3. I think 70% of FFXIII sales being in PS3 and 30% of sales being in 360 in a good guess for WW(already counting Japan).

So, it it reaches Darth expectation of 10 million it will be something like

7 million PS3/3 million 360. A pretty decent number for 360.

Anyway, I expect the 360 version to hold more legs, since the FF fanbase is getting the game for PS3 and the hype between the ps base is much higher than the hype between the 360 base.
Ask for your gamers friends, this game is much more popular between ps3 only owners than 360 only owners, and owners of the two consoles are likely to get the PS3 version.

In my case for example, I don't know any 360 owners that is hyped for XIII, even the ones that get hacked consoles aren't likely to get it, they are more likely to wait for GTA next, Halo:Reach or Gears of War 3. The PS3 owners that I know are super hyped for XIII,GT5 and God of War 3.

Another impression I have, it looks like the kind of cult player, the try to see poetry, art and good plot in games are more likely PS3 owners. At least my 360 friends are more likely "Oh, I killed so many people yesterday playing MW2!" and the ps3 friends are like "That final battle between Snake and Liquid were so emotioning!"

Yeah i think it can get up to 2 million.

Microsoft is going to advertise the shit out of FF13. I believe it will outsell on PS3 version US+EU though.

They can't do that themselves unless they have an exclusive advertising deal.

Well Demons Souls is more of a western RPG, VC is obviously SRPG. But Demons souls isnt WW and VC very well may pass Lost Odyssey WW and it hasnt been out as long.

I think what your argument is proving is that somehow the PS3 has been shafted when it comes to JRPG's which is sort of ironic since your intital comments sounded like they were coming from someone pleading for more JRPG support so all dual console owners should buy the 360 version when in reality 360 owners have been spoiled on a WW basis with the JRPG's this gen.

@Bonkers

The only pure JRPG on the PS3 is White Knight Chronicles which has ONLY been released in Japan so far.

Lost Odyssey (JPN): 110K
WorldWide: 820K
White Knight (JPN): 370K

White Knight hit JPN about a year and a half after LO's first release. I don't know why you even bothered to bring up Disgaea3 or Demon's Souls since those games pretty much define the word "Niche". Here's some interesting info though:

VC is a SRPG and has 700K sales. LO had a 10 Month head start on VC. And at the current rate things are going, I expect Demon's Souls' US sales to surpass LO's by Summer 2010.

360 owners spoiled with JRPGs?  How many JRPGs was released on the 1st Xbox?  I'll tell you how many. 0-ZERO-NADA-NONE.  What I'm pleading Xbox 360 owners to do is to support Square Enix and Namco for their efforts for bringing more JRPGs to the Xbox system.  Personally it doesn't effect me with my purchase because I own both the PS3 and 360.  I just love it when 3rd parties be neutral in the console war and let the 1st party games battle it out.
