No, I swear!  It was the E3 2008 announcement and a glitch in Dell's website that made the Elites $300 (a full year before they would hit that price regularly) that made me do it.  I already have a PS3 as well, but I didn't buy it for Versus XIII.  I bought it for MGS4, and The Last Guardian.  I'm still getting FFXIII for 360 though. 

none. All of my friends have a 360 and only one other than me is getting FF13.

3. 2 will buy it period and the other will if it comes in a Lightning Bundle in the US (he has a 360).

i know 3 people who bought ps3's for FFXIII back when it was still exclusive to the ps3. don't know anyone who has yet to buy either system but plans to because of FFXIII.

0. All my friends who love JRPGs already purchase a 360 when they announce Star: Ocean and FFXIII.

You should get FFXIII for PS3 for the fully uncompressed CG cutscenes and uncompressed sound. Plus you won't have to swap discs

5, also 3 more getting slim this xmas. for that and other games like MSG4

none. They all play shooters/mmorpgs.. and maybe a few stategy/racing games.. Don't think I know anyone who plays JRPGs. I'm all alone xD

I guess the genre is just that niche in my country, although many DO know FF :/

I don't have any friends that are getting a PS3 just for FFXIII. I did however pick up the Lightning bundle. I was only planning on getting the game, but I am a sucker for special edition consoles and what not -_-

If only you asked that a few years ago...

Now, I'm the one telling my friends to keep their PS3 because the superior version will be on the PS3. One of them was trying to sell a BC 60GB PS3 because he wanted to play Halo with his friend (and we already have two 360s... and he lives with me and my bro in the same apartment, lol). Since I'M such a powerful person, I stopped him. So yay me?
