This is basically what my friends told my about the movie (in the form of sarcasm).

Thanks for the annoying and dumb contribution.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

The movie jumped past $1 Bln WW this weekend...Titanic is next. It's funny...Cameron made jsut $75M off that film, as he gived up the rights to his % participation...looks like lightening will strike twice, as the guy is probably going to make $200-300 million off this film!

Oh...and it disappointed (ROFLOL) and acutally dropped 9.7% to 68.2 million this weekend....incredible!

There's no big movies to challenge Avatar for a while and Oscar noms will only increase demand. I wouldn't be surprised if Avatar took the best picture award away from The Hurt Locker. Interesting factoid: James Cameron was married to Kathryn Bigalow(Hurt Locker director). The media will have a lot of fun with that one

I'm happy that 2009's highest grosser won't belong to Michael Bay.

It wouldn't be even without Avatar.

How was it obvious that that was what you meant? And besides, why would you only count Domestic? Worldwide is far more important.

Besides, if we're counting Domestic gross in 2009, Transformers 2 beat Avatar.

Okay, I'm done owning you now. Bye.

My, aren't we testy?

Wow...Montana pulls out his hatchet...

It might be far fetched, but Avatar might actually crack $2 Bln WW...I don't think anything is going to touch it for a while...even the eventual sequel. I'm sure the other films of the trilogy are going to do well, they aren't going to do a LOTR from film to film. If Fox was smart, they would task Cameron to do Avatar 2 & 3 at once to save money, and ensure they have a focused effort.

Just saw it. And DAMN! I'm inclined to agree.

holly crap. some people are really determined to make this movie political. Does it make statements about the environment and corporations? sure. Is it political to observe how the world works? no.

And why are you all glossing over the far more important aspect of how hot those Na'Vi are?

The girl's smile was cute....
