Yea Fable III is happening next year but another WRPG is Alpha Protocol (not exactly being popularized) but I've looked into this game and it looks quite solid.  Possibly AAA status but I stress that possibly.........

I know about alpha protocol, I was even gonna mention it, but i was gonna say "it has no chance of beating ME2"

You sure about that? You should probably post some links both including and excluding user poll awards for the Witcher because Mass Effect received quite a few awards.

I'm sure, it won tons of awards from eastern european mags/websites. Go to their official website to some of what it won.

Rampant speculation me boy. ME2 was never slated for a fall '09 release, the earliest I had even heard it hinted for was 12/31/09. You must not underestimate teh Biowarez!

man, I can't wait to play this game. The interview has even more encouraged me to put my hands on that masterpiece. Bioware at their best!

The Witcher 2. the first Witcher beat and won more GOTY awards than Mass Effect 1.

Then there's Drakensang: The River of Time, the expansion of Mount & Blade, and the small chance that Diablo 3 could still come out on 2010. And I'm only talking about non-mmorpg.

 

 

The Witcher was a great game marred by glitches associated only on the Vista os. However it is still by far one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

But I don't think Witcher will be out by 2010 since there has been virtually no information except "leaks" on it.  Diablo 3 is even less likely with the way things are going with Blizzard.

Competition...lol...from what? This is the #1 WRPG out next year, now if you're talking about competition in general...it's got some, but nothing to threaten it's rise to the top crop of the GOTY discussion.
