WOW, that's ridiculous, hopefully not all of them are like this. Also, it seems that dungeons are short, that also blows.

Yeah, I would love to know the scale of those dungeons.

If they're small, it's probably not a huge deal that they're straight but then it probably means lots of load times.

It they're huge, not as many load times but then you have a large open straight space which is kind of meh.

Around the Network

Those 4 maps are from one and the same area (which was also playable in the demo):

Hanged Edge.

It doesn't say much.

Looking forward to: FF Versus XIII / LBP2 / The Last Guardian / Yakuza 4 / ICO Collection

The first players should finish the game by saturday or sunday, than we know everything.

This reminds me of that Killzone 2 preview article that said the AI was broken in close combat, and that you could knife your way through the entire game. And then as proof, they showed a video with a bunch of short clips of the player knifing a guy and then the camera quickly cutting away as the player got shot.

1.) Final Fantasy has been doing some very linear dungeons for a while.
2.) This is... two maps? Which apparently we've all already seen in-game. And no one complained about the area layouts until someone posted this sensationalist title on the day of release in Japan, with zero new evidence to back it up.

Well, the footage from the playable demo looked pretty linear, but that was like the beginning of the game; those maps could all be from that same area. So its not like youre going to walk down a narrow corridor with no interaction whatsoever

i remember seeing in the e3 trailer a very short clip towards the end of snow activating a button of some sort, changing around a set of platforms as kinda like an open labyrinth. As short as the clip was, the map didnt seem very linear at all.

Besides, ffx was pretty linear from start to finish, and it wasnt bad at all. Yeah i was very disappointed it got rid of an open world map, but ffxii made it a little better. Im just hoping for a seamless world map like they had before ffx, and i thought i heard them say they were going to have one in xiii. Hell, with pulse and cocoon there could possibly be TWO world maps, like in ffiii and iv!
