Forums - Gaming - Anyone else getting tired of FPS?

no, because over saturation (competition) will force developers to actually think outside the box to differentiate their games from others.

A little, I want to see something like Deus Ex or Thief, some actual creative thought on setting and story and a little more depth.

I also feel that FPS is trapped with needing MP but in truth, apart from the really big titles, most of the time the MP dies away pretty quickly, which seems a waste of resource. I'd like to see some pure SP FPS only - which is wayyyy unlikely at the moment, but I can hope.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Actually yes. This year all three FPS games that I have bought have been disappointmenst. KZ2 had awful controlls and no co-op. Halo: ODST had boring and short story and outdated graphics. MW2 also had short ridiculous story. For online FPS players it has been probably best year in a while but for me SP is more important.

Well, if you are tired of FPS then you should play Medieval II total war with me.

This comment rings true for me and I think many other gamers (who don't play MP anywhere near as much). SP seems to have been altogether forgotten this gen in FPS'.

My online FPS needs have been completely satisfied by TF2 and Americas Army for a very long time. So if an FPS doesn't have much new about it or a very good singleplayer I won't even consider it.

it could be worse. there are worse genres.

Yeah. I agree totally. It feels that nowadays SP is just extra in the game and MP is main focus. Last gen it was different way around.

@Vetteman94: Actually I have considered buying Botherlands because it looks different compared to other general FPS games. Maybe when it gets discounted. Uncharted 2, Assanssin's Creed 2 and God of War Collection already coming for Christmas so no money or time to get it now. =)

i have started to. im begining to find cod mw2 borning.
