Impressive sales but it looks like AVATAR the video game could be a bomba.

A list of the year’s 10 best selling games through the end of November shows titles for the Nintendo Wii and DS filling six slots— with 15.5 million units sold. That’s over 58 percent of the list’s total sales.

Ubisoft had high hopes for its game adaptation of “James Cameron’s Avatar,” but retailers indicate that initial sales of the game have been soft. One GameStop manager in a high-traffic area reported he didn’t sell a single copy in the game’s first three days on shelves.

avatar is gonna bomb in the theaters and in games. They spent way too much money on that movie. I think south park said it best.

we have the same top 10, except for Madden which is only off by 100k to make it into VGChartz top 10, as we currently have NSMB and Wii Fit Plus above it. Obviously their list didn't include Wii Sports, so I knocked that off in the comparison.

I also noticed that Wii game sales are up a million year over year for the 8th and the Xbox 360 is down by a million and the PS3 is only up by a few hundred thousand. So I guess the share of Wii sales relative to PS3 or Xbox 360 or both combined has improved.

Interesting how comparisons are being made that make Nintendo sales look bad. The article is about November 2009 vs. November 2008. It never mentions that this is a month-on-month when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launched -- which has the capacity to skew the numbers.
