On the one hand gratz to K2 but on the other...comes across as if some folks are using a tenuious link to kick the 360 which is a bit...sad to be honest.

I find that odd. i played KZ2 and it was very good but not amazing. MW2 is better for me, but I own the PC version not the PS3 one.

I'm talking from my point of view so it might be inaccurate but when I see folks discuss the different review sites (e.g GT, IGN etc) IGN is mentioned more often than the others but when if it becomes apparent that the opinion is from IGN uk/Au, there's usually a person who says " this isn't IGN usa." suggesting that the opinion stated should not be held with a that high a level of merit.

But like I say, it's just my pov and might be wrong.

I didn't want to pick on anyone or whatever but this is sorta what I'm getting at, taken from this very thread.

The question is whether the person who said that is American themselves. That would be rather indicative of why the statement was made in the first place.

Well, that's sorta my point really. Just because it isn't from your country doesn't make it any less valid.

IGN score is from one review person.... and different reviewers I guess.

And IGN Best of Year is from a lot of reviewers.

This is the correlation.

Well for me, if it's a primarily a US based company/website then I tend to think of the US site as the primary one and the others as off-shoots, so to speak. I'm from the US and even though I'm not in the country for now, I still visit the US version of sites so I tend to regard those more highly than I would a secondary site from the same company (e.g. IGN AU).

OT: I'm really surprised KZ2 won. I only played the game for a short while, but besides the graphics I thought the game was pretty awful. (the controls were really bad, IMO). I haven't played that much of MW2 yet (and not at all on the PS3), but I'm enjoying it a whole lot more than I did KZ2.

KZ2 totally deserves this honor.....i guess IGN chickened away from best shooter of the year (KZ2)
