Forums - Gaming Discussion - The thing that pisses me off the most about game pirates...

Let me ask you a question:

According to you, if you download a game that you're buying anyway, is that wrong??? (i'm not talking about being ilegal, only wrong)...

Because a friend of mine only downloads illegal copies because he can play them before, and then buy them at release... I've never seen him downloading an illegal copy of a game he doesn't buy, and he has one of the greatest collection of games i've ever seen, so when i asked him that he told me the reason i'm posting... So i got curious and that's why i'm asking...

I personally wouldn't have a problem with that...

But the problem is that there is something inside of people that tells them not to buy the game once they have it downloaded. I've beed there with ps2...:)

Honestly, I preordered Bayonetta 2 weeks ago...and if I could id download it and play it right now. ITs that good...infact ima make a thread about it.

The amout of money I spend on games is well over 250 a year. But those damn pirates get em for free.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

Like I have 2 360s...I've bought atleast 30 games thus far (and traded back 20 or so).

I've paid my dues. I deserve a lick of the sugar cube... :)

I'm kidding of course. I wouldn't bother getting a 360 thats modded cause i learned the golden rule when I was playing copied games for my dreamcast and ps2.

The rule is that I only play if I pay.

u shud get one of ur 360 modded

Yeah well i don't mind waiting for games. Yeah i do hate them and what they did to the psp.

What bothers me is when they steal games from the small developers/publisher that actually NEED the money.

I don't feel as bad if someone pirates an Activision/EA game as I would if they pirated a game like InFamous or Uncharted or something.

Since when is Sony a small company?

Sony isn't small, but they do need the money.

Sucker Punch however, is small and they probably want the money they deserve.

I personally don't like the whole "the world owes me somthing" attitude in general. Nope, world owes you nothing. Pay for what you get, it's how the world works.

Like paying for an internet connection, a DVD-writer and blank DVD?

Bah dum ching! <---Rim shot for you!

for a second there I thought you meant Rim-Job...

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't cause it would get banned within a month... And then what do I do when 4 freinds are over and we want to play Halo 3? Have one guy sit out every match? Thats so...2004...

Wow, Vlad hasn't showed up yet. I figured he would be here by now. After all, it is a piracy discussion. (Not that I am attacking Vlad, it's just that he's wrong )

Whenever I have to type in a CD key or go through some other DRM procedure for a piece of software, I think "damn pirates". Now I know that a perfect world where there are no pirates and software makers don't have to do anything to protect their software that annoys their customers does not exist, but it doesn't stop me from getting pissed of at pirates each time I encounter DRM. Plus I morally object to breaking the law, being the good brainwashed military officer that I am.
